Themes - ISSUE #05
After some delay in production, U&I Magazine's 5th issue is now back in production and will be released in early 2008!
The magazine will have the following features...
Regular Features
Regular features are features that will appear in each issue of the magazine.
- yourCity
- The world is a large place with many hidden gems to discover. This section highlights the photographer's city, your city. Show us your city through the eyes of your camera; tell the world what you think of the city you live in. Up to 4-6 photos are accepted, and an article is required.
- Travelography
- Photographs while you were out travelling the world. I'm not talking just any travel photos, but photos that take into account composition, perspective, lighting and other elements that make a great photograph. Up to 4-6 photos are accepted, and an article is required.
- flickrVision
- The photo sharing site that is more than just a photo sharing site. This section focuses on stories and photos of users from Flickr (http://www.flickr.com). Are you using Flickr for more than just sharing photos? Has Flickr changed your life? Let the world know how much you Flickr! Select Flickr users will have their chance to tell their stories, share their photos, and highlight their talents.
- Flickr users will be selectively chosen by me (Taku). Join the Flickr U&I Magazine group to post photos for me to see some of your best work. Submitting to this group pool is not the same as submitting for publication consideration.
Themes
- Theme-free
- Issue #05 will not have any particular theme associated with it, which means anything and everything will be accepted for publication consideration. Get your creative thinking cap on and show the world what you have to offer!
- All Seasons
- Issue #05 combines the wonders of all seasons! Show us what you love about these seasons and your photos and articles can get chosen for publication! Anything and everything to do with any of the seasons are acceptable.
Miscellaneous
Additional articles from photographers and other randomly selected photos that may not necessarily fall into the above categories may be added throughout the magazine.
On the backburner
The following themes are also accepted anytime until further notice (i.e. deadlines do not apply to these themes). These themes may not necessarily be used in the next issue, but we are still collecting content for future and special issues of U&I Magazine.
- Food for thought
- Do you love to cook or bake? Do you love to show your masterpieces to the world? If so, we want your recipes and photos to go along with them! If you have your favourite recipe and want to share them with the world, create it and take great looking food photos for everyone else to drool on. Any type of season or ethnic dishes are all welcome.
- Food photography can be great fun especially when you're the one who made the food and took the photos!
- Use Macro shots - close ups of your creation will make anyone drool
- Give us step by step photo illustrations and we'll arrange them according to your recipe instructions!
- Soft lighting often works best with food photography
- Get creative and have some fun!
