Is it just for Christians? The basis of the Doshisha education is love and freedom education, which is based on Christianity cultivated by our founder Joseph Hardy Neesima (1843-1890) and his successors. Honoring that founding spirit, the activities of the religious club are always planned and practiced primarily by D.W.C.L.A’s students. Students who do not identify as Christian are of course welcome to join us. Q2 : If I participate in the Division of Religious Affairs’ activities, will I be invited into a specific religion? As Christianity is the founding philosophy of our university, no such invitations will occur.
