If you wish to commute by bicycle, motorcycle, or car, you must apply for an on-campus parking permit at the Student Affairs Center and receive an "On-Campus Parking Permit" sticker. Vehicles without a sticker will not be allowed to use the campus parking lot, and may be removed. Please note that commuting to and from school by car, as well as parking near campus, is not permitted at Uzumasa Campus. Applying for a Parking Permit If you wish to commute to school by bicycle, motorcycle or car, please fill out the "On-Campus Parking Permit Application" and bring the necessary documents to the Student Affairs Center. If your family has optional motor vehicle insurance, be sure to check if the insurance applies to you as well. In recent years, there have been many vehicular accidents resulting in large legal settlements (including incidents involving bicycles). It goes without saying that students are expected to drive cautiously, but students are also required to take out insurance and prepare for any eventuality. Rules for Students Commuting by Vehicle All students are required to wear a helmet when riding a motorcycle, and a seatbelt when driving a car. Students are also expected to strictly observe traffic rules and driving etiquette. In addition, please strictly observe the following rules, particularly on campus. No vehicles are allowed in the designated exclusion zones. Vehicles are required to drive slowly on campus roads. Also, vehicles that have been customized to make loud noise are not allowed to enter campus. When parking, be sure to use the student parking lot, and affix your On-Campus Parking Permit sticker to a visible area  (the rear brake light for motorcycles, the rear window for cars, and the rear mudguard or saddle post for bicycles). Only authorized vehicles are allowed to park in the parking spaces for the disabled. Be aware of the noise your vehicle produces and the danger it poses to pedestrians, and always maintain safety on and off campus. Students who commute by motorcycle and car must ensure that they have liability insurance as well as additional optional insurance that covers bodily injury and property damage. You will be asked to present your insurance certificates when you apply for a parking sticker. Do not park on nearby streets or in business parking lots, or otherwise cause trouble for or inconvenience our neighbors. Theft, etc. The university will not assume any responsibility for theft, damage, or accidents involving vehicles in campus parking lots or on campus roads. In particular, please make sure to lock your motorcycle or bicycle and take measures to protect your helmet from theft.  Commuter Passes & Discounts Student Commuter Pass Student Commuter Passes are available to all degree-seeking undergraduate and graduate students. Please pay attention to the following points when purchasing a commuter pass. The Student Commuter Certificate required for purchasing a commuter pass is issued at the Educational Affairs Center. However, it will take several days to issue. When you purchase a commuter pass, you will need your student ID and a Student Commuter Certificate issued by the school. Commuter passes can be purchased only for the shortest or most economical route from the station closest to your current address (the address on your student ID card) to the station closest to your university (the main campus where you take classes). Students are not allowed to purchase commuter passes for part-time jobs, extracurricular activities, job hunting activities, or any other purpose other than commuting to school. If you are commuting to Kyoto Kameoka Campus, it is more affordable to use Keihan-Kyoto Kotsu Bus Student Coupons (available at the on-campus store) than it is to purchase a commuter pass. A free shuttle bus is available to transport students between the Uzumasa and Kameoka campuses. Student Commuter Pass for Practical Training Students from the Department of Nursing and Department of Speech and Hearing Sciences and Disorders may apply for a student commuter pass for their off-campus practical training. If you wish, please apply at the Educational Affairs Center by the designated deadline. Please note that these passes take several days to be issued. Student Discount Vouchers The Student Discount Voucher System is designed to reduce the burden of transportation costs on students commuting to school, participating in extracurricular activities, going on field trips, seeking employment, and traveling home for the holidays. Discounts apply to designated JR lines as well as certain other transportation services. In order to use this system, students must acquire a Student Discount Voucher (Gakuwari Voucher). Vouchers can be issued at convenience stores participating in KUAS&＃39; certificate issuance system. Up to two vouchers can be issued at one time. Conditions of use: the selected travel route must exceed 100km one-way, and only the student themselves may use this service (family, etc. are not permitted). Student Discount Vouchers are valid for three months from the date of issue. Unauthorized use of vouchers, such as the sharing of discounted tickets, will be dealt with strictly. Student Group Discounts A group discount is available for groups of 8 or more students who are traveling with a faculty or staff member for extracurricular activities or seminars. In order to use this system, a student group discount voucher is required. Please obtain the required application form from a travel agency or JR train station and apply to the Educational Affairs Center at least three weeks prior to the event. All students must follow the same travel itinerary.
